  Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
It is the year of 1977, and the events of the Wizarding World are growing yet more and more sinister with each waking day.... Lord Voldemort has begun his rise to power, murdering anybody who threatens to stand in his path.... News of killings and kidnaps are growing by the dozens.... The Ministry is at a loss for any explanation, merely handing out pamphlets to each and every Wizarding household on how to best protect each other from Dark magic. A panic is sweeping across the country unlike any before...
A frigid, spine tingling feeling streams throughout the nation as many witches and wizards reside behind tight quarters in fear of those who call themselves the ‘Death Eaters' - a group of elite wizards and witches experienced - No, /fascinated/ by the Dark Arts - whom carry out He-Who- Must-Not-Be-Named's orders and commands, killing those who are not worthy of Lord Voldemort himself often in the most cruelest of ways possible. Family members are lost.... Trust, faith, hope.... Nearly all are gone in this time of evil and terror.... For many, all that is left is fear....
Yet a beacon of hope still resides inside the stone walls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; a flame dwindling in between the icy and murky atmosphere that has grown to engulf the Wizarding world into a thick blanket of misguidance and hopelessness. A flame that slowly grows into a wall of protection.... And as the new term slowly creeps into exsistence, the Whomping Willow begins to shed its leaves, and the air grows ever frostier, it seems as if the students of Hogwarts have entered a newfound world of some sort.... A world of recklessness and excitement.... Far, far away from the panic and mayhem of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's likings.... It feels as if all else if far, far behind.... Simply awaiting to catch up, though in the minds of the students it is far gone....
And among the terror and alarm, as the students begin to prepare for exams, sorting through the numerous amounts of essays and textbooks, it seems nearly impossible to imagine anybody who can live without a care and continue to feel the excitement of life as if all were right with the world.... The exuberant flight of the heart as it flutters with glee at the sight of love.... The pains and burdens of the exact same weapon that is so often used as a sign of affection and warmth as it cuts deep, jagged wounds within the soul..... The fresh aroma of Fall wafting in through the opened doors.... The nagging feeling of schoolwork, and the teachers' warning gazes... The Black Lake resting gently against its shores as the days grow shorter and slower.... The delightfully inviting scent of the numerous amounts of buffets set throughout the long tables of the Great Hall.... The warmth and the thick feel of Butterbeer against the tongue.... Drifting through the knowledge of the large textbooks packed by the dozens in the library, or simply floating throughout the empty, historical corridors of Hogwarts....
It seems as if the students can still be said to feel the smallest of pleasures and anxieties of this world.... And throughout the disasters, it can be said that even though many are easily broken, the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry still find time to simply set free.... On and on the rain will fall
